Iran Claims Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Plumes of black smoke were seen rising near an location proximate to the central command of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
