Prosecutors report that a former physician now faces charges for committing assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
