Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an improved serving game.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a third set.

The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
